Introduction to MVP Project Lab Coat
In early 2026, MVP Disc Sports launches Project Lab Coat, a major update to MVP’s visual identity. This means their discs will receive a refreshed look and updated appearance. The project affects both MVP and Axiom, while Streamline is not included in the changes.
The goal is to modernize and standardize the visual expression across the two brands to match today’s design and product standards. For MVP, this includes a new standard color for the GYRO overmold, while both MVP and Axiom receive updated stamps. A more cohesive design line is also introduced, making it easier to identify new production runs.
The rollout will happen gradually throughout 2026 as new production runs are released.
Why Project Lab Coat
Many of MVP’s and Axiom’s stock stamps have been in use for more than a decade. With Project Lab Coat, MVP aims to refresh and modernize the visual identity to better reflect the brand’s technical level and current design standards.

Going forward, many new stamps will feature multi-foil designs, creating more detailed and visually striking stock releases. The update is focused on building a clearer and more unified identity across MVP and Axiom.
It is important to emphasize that Project Lab Coat is purely a visual update. The discs’ construction, materials, and flight characteristics remain unchanged, meaning the discs will fly exactly as you expect.
MVP vs. Axiom vs. Streamline
Project Lab Coat affects the brands differently:
- MVP changes the standard GYRO overmold color from black to white on all new discs going forward. No new MVP discs will be produced with a black overmold. MVP also receives updated stamps and a new visual standard.
- Axiom continues to feature colored overmolds, and black rims will also be available among the many color variations Axiom already offers. Axiom also receives modernized stamps and a more unified design direction.
- Streamline is not included in the initial phase of Project Lab Coat, as Streamline discs do not feature an overmold and already use high-quality multi-foil stamps. Streamline therefore remains unchanged both visually and structurally.
This means the changes primarily concern MVP’s overmold color and updated stamps on MVP and Axiom discs, while the Streamline lineup remains unchanged.
What Changes with Project Lab Coat?
As part of Project Lab Coat, MVP is upgrading the majority of its stock stamps, but not all. Some lines already feature a modern look and will remain unchanged, including Eclipse, Simon Line, and James Conrad Line.
Other lines such as Fission and Plasma will receive minor refinements while keeping their overall design concept. Meanwhile, Neutron, Proton, and Electron in both MVP and Axiom will receive completely new visual concepts, often featuring more prominent details and increased use of multi-foil.
| Area | Change |
|---|---|
| MVP GYRO Overmold | The standard rim color changes from black to white on all new MVP discs going forward. No new MVP discs will be produced with a black rim. |
| MVP Stamps | Updated and modernized stamps with increased use of multi-foil. |
| Axiom Stamps | New stamps with a more unified design direction and greater use of multi-foil. |
| Axiom Overmold | Colored rims continue – black rims will also appear among the available color variations. |
| Plastic Availability per Model | More popular molds will be offered in a wider range of plastics, while less popular models will be available in fewer plastic combinations than before. |
Although there are visual and lineup adjustments, the discs themselves remain the same. Molds and tooling are unchanged, so you are still getting the exact models you know – just with an updated look. The plastic types and their compositions also remain unchanged, meaning flight characteristics and performance stay exactly the same.
Rollout and Availability
Project Lab Coat will roll out gradually starting in early 2026. New production runs will progressively replace older versions, but during a transition period both old and new runs will be available simultaneously.
The new versions can be identified by the white GYRO rim on MVP models and updated stamps, often featuring multi-foil details. Older versions remain fully playable and technically identical to the new releases.
